I read mine. I had to, there are so many new things (safety switches and levers) on the riding mower I could barely load it on my trailer after I bought it. There was no way I could cut the grass before reading the manual.
I used to faithfully read my manuals (be they for equipment, a car or a truck or whatever) cover to cover… often multiple times. My interest/joy/pleasure in reading the manuals has slid rapidly downhill to a limit rapidly approaching zero, however. The reason for this decline is due to the MANY manuals that now are placing their trilingual instructions in a pattern that is basically alternating EVERY PARAGRAPH from English, to Spanish, to French. Do not get me wrong, I understand the value of having the items purchasable in the three different primary languages in the North American Continent. What I would prefer, however, is to have three different manuals…. one in English, one in Spanish, and one in French. Some items DO come this way…. and that is great….. but I am finding more and more items with the difficult to follow alternating paragraph approach.
what plugger would buy a newfangled mower? with all the safety interlocks, it would take a day to bypass them all so it would operate like “old faithful”…..loud & smoky, but functional. Safety? use common sense, numb-nuts…..ever hear of natural selection???
