With billions of gallons of oil still spilling out of the Gulf’s floor, this is NOT funny.

I like that God is in his Wagnerian costume can’t you hear the Ride of the Valkyries swelling in the background.

Chuck’s point is – if I take it right – that the Gulf is about to become a really um - interesting - place to work soon, especially trying to clean up oil messes.

Anybody ready to try more submarines? I was thinking a ring of shaped charges around the pipe just might pinch it off, then there’d be a chance to work out a more permanent fix. Of course, you’d want the sub well out of the way when you yell “FIRE IN THE HOLE!”

He’s got angels to do this, so this is a real working class God who gets his hands dirty. Great portrayal. Missed the nails holes in the hands, but other than that…

@freeholder1- if you know your Norse mythology: Thor was never crucified. Odin, impaled on his spear, hung from the world tree for nine days.

Ah, but this is a Catholic mythology, Ellis. Loki got tortured for killing Balder, but we don’t complain that Satan doesn’t get venom dumped on him.

Besides, this is Wiley world. Myth and match legends.

Since 1957, four individuals have controlled North Americas surface changes and its weather conditions, changing the natural resources available to humans today .

They are APACHE and INCOGNITO, and creator’s of the humans who reside here on Earth.

However, these four individuals DID NOT create or control the original humanity here on EARTH.

    Right idea, Fritz.

I suspect Mr. Robertson’s comments one hurricane season engendered this little wit. (I’m still waiting for Pat to explain to me why god hates Nashville.) WM has a nice New Agey type God who blends Thor (No hammer) and the Catholic (universal) ideal of a Zeus(lightning bolts in his hands) -type God. I suspect he’s been reading John Campbell or watching the old Moyers interviews. Fortunately, we Christians have a real sense of humor about such things and laugh it off and forgive him.

Part of my sense of humor about it is to go to all the Muslim websites and explain that it’s Muhammad with the lightning bolts. Those guys just love that kind of stuff.

I just hope the winds can whip up that oil and whap a few BP execs up long side the head – so they can look like those pelicans they are pulling out of the sludge. While they’re at it let’s take out a few Haliburton execs too for their part in the mess. Something like turnaround’s fair play!

I am a lifelong resident of NC and we have had our share of bad hurricanes over the years. I thought this was hilarious and timely, being published ont he 1st day of hurricane season. I also do not think it shows any disrespect to all going on in the Gulf of Mexico right now, but sends more of a message of support, as we already have this huge disaster on our hands, but have no idea what will happen between now and the end on November with the hurricane season. It should make BP get off it’s laurels and take responsibility for their actions.
