Wow, what a cliffhanger…. Gil (sorry, STATE CHAMP COACH GIL) is saying goodbye to True for a football camp?? My guess is Gil will get invited to the camp as a guest coach (being a state championship-winning coach) and fend off the coaches trying to recruit him for their prep school. Maybe we get another cameo from Rick Riley like a few years back.

I was never a State Champion QB, but when I was 17 my head would have been turning towards the chick with the frizzbee. And for an " elite" athlete Tru sure doesn’t seem to spend a whole lot of time in the weight room. Or any that we’ve ever seen.

I can’t figure out if that’s Gidget in P3 and we’re back in the early 60’s or if Neal and Rod are trying to be hip with a Kid Rock “All Summer Long” vibe. But then I have to wonder if music videos have even made it to Milford yet.

I like the new hip Gil (sorry…..STATE CHAMPION COACH Gil) rockin’ the ponytail in P1, a la Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere & The Raiders. I guess that “kicks just keep gettin’ harder to find” for everyone in this strip.

Personally I thought it was Archie with Betty and Veronica when I first saw panel three. I guess that would make Gil ‘Jughead’?

Pretty sneaky. While Tru was napping, Boo snuck up and sat beside him. While Odd Job’s daughter has had enough of that blond bimbo and is about to play ISIS on the beach. Now, there’s a storyline we could all enjoy.

From the way she’s holding that Frisbee®, I think bikini girl is actually an alien replicant.

Fun fact: at least 3 of the 5 characters appearing in today’s strip have their eyes closed.

I’m going to count Gil’s old, wrinkled hand in P1 as occurrence #8 in the Random Hand category. So how is Gil going to say goodbye to Tru(e) when he doesn’t even know where he is? Maybe we’ll get 3 action packed days of Gil walking into coffee shops, asking “Seen Tru(e) lately?” And speaking of action packed, today’s Mopped Up Thorp is action packed!

Tru(th) be told, I’m not so sure that Boo isn’t the one checking out the bikini’ed bombshell…

I didn’t even notice the “M” tat. I was too busy laughing at its bearer’s improbable dialogue. Though I suppose there could be more than one Steve in Milford.
