I have to admit, I’m with Burl on this one. A thing is a thing unless it’s made of gold or silver or is 100 years old AND is spectacularly well made AND has some significance. Otherwise, it’s just a thing.Pretentiousness doesn’t add value. Just because a store gives you a glass of cheap wine and has a candle lit—or has a bearded salesman—doesn’t add value. Value adds value.

the typical item at your local fill-in-the-blank-Mart store originated in China or in some other un-friendly part of the Earth. the Amish made goods are made right here. Buy American!

I’m an ebay re-seller. You’ll notice that prices on some items are all over the place on ebay. We re-sellers have a saying… an item is worth only what someone is willing to PAY! Now, if the gentleman has a market for his “circle of sharing” and sells them for $300, Burl can go pound sand! But..if not, then the $300 item is just a $300 conversation piece!

The piece was probably hand turned on a foot-driven lathe. Something like that can take days to create.

Circle of sharing too much of your good money.
