“Oh my God, Becky. Look at how boring this is. Does Italy have any water or amusement parks?”

Water and amusement parks are the same everywhere – boring and artificial – while no two museums are alike. May I recommend the Vatican Museums and the Galleria Doria Pamphilj?

In general, and mainly for stuff before C20, European museums are by far the best, then a few big US ones, and only then comes your local…

Lucky for me, I actually do have a few good local ones.

It’s the same everywhere. Very few Baltimoreans have been to Ft. McHenry or the Flag House, and while the Walters Art Gallery is absolutely world class, you’d be amazed by how many people don’t even know it exists. Weird.

Even in the USA, you need a weapons license for this kind of truth bomb.

Oh, and is this strip officially set in Edmonton? If so, I’m still wondering why they had an American Thanksgiving …

My wife and I went to Austria 10 years ago (she’s from Vienna; still has family there). We went to see Schönbrunn Palace with one of my wife’s aunts. She commented to us that in all the time she’d been alive and living in Vienna, she’d never visited the palace until coming with us.

Creators Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen first collaborated on the comic strip “Bub Slug” in 1976. The character of Betty appeared in the strip, but was not seen regularly until 1985, when the Edmonton Journal began running a full-page weekly comic version of “Bub Slug.” “Betty” became a stand-alone strip in 1991.
