Luann DOES have a gift for staging, but do mosh pits still exist? I thought those went the way of Mohawk hair cuts and safety-pin nose rings.

Once Luann’s imagination gets revved up, it’s as though powered by an enormous fly-wheel that just keeps on building up momentum, more and more and more, until that old warehouse would end up exceeding a major Las Vegas casino in garish splendor! —Also, far exceeding $50 or 60k….

Assuming they can somehow buy this property for under half a million (highly doubtful, given the price of urban real estate space in SoCal), then just bringing it up to code for occupancy and doing the basic build-out, much less making it an attractive gallery / performance space, can’t be done for less than another half million. So Luann’s suggestions aren’t any more unrealistic than the whole rest of Frank’s plans. Go for it!

Give Frank’s shirt and the building to a demolition company. Inexperience + under-funding = disaster.

2Hmm…. I think Luann has gone farther off the “deep end” than either Frank or Brad. What she is suggesting to do must IMO be meant sarcastically…. and does not represent a “real” vision for the place. My hope that she is being facetious is because:Swim Up Bar- Everything I could find about “swim up bars” suggests that they are associated with outdoor swimming pools. I cannot imagine an indoor pool being a viable part of the warehouse with all of the other items Frank has envisioned, so this seems fairly ludicrous. Mosh Pit – from what I have read, a “mosh pit” can be a pretty dangerous place with kids crashing into each other all over the place, and it appears to be mostly associated with a heavier, harsher form of rock music that does not seem likely a style Luann gravitates towards, and does not seem to be sustainable enough for the warehouse venue. Virtual Reality Room – a VR room is still too “new” to not cost many hundreds of times more than what Frank is already planning to invest… and from what I have been able to find, the first VR theme park is going to open in Utah in 2016. With the above, I have to believe Luann is being sarcastic. But if she is being “real” in her opinions…. heaven help us all.

And, the Mosh Pit idea seems to exponentially increase the liability insurance costs Frank and TJ would have to foot for the venture.

So whose dream venue is it? The rich, middle-aged & retired folks who want Elvis & Springsteen and a coffee bar? The young, uppwardly-mobile Millenials who want mosh pits? So who is going to pay the bills long-term?

Note that Frank and Nancy admit they don’t qualify for a loan. So they’ve got TJ’s $60K, plus their own meager savings, and that’s it.

    > no, Greg attempted to clarify later that the $60K was needed to secure the necessary loans.

How did he “clarify” that, and where? And in what universe does raising $60K of seed money qualify you for a loan of several hundred thousand more?

Given how long this “warehouse” story thread has been going on, and given that additional financing beyond the $60K has never been mentioned in all that time, I would classify this not as a “clarification” but as a “retcon”. Anyway, I look forward to seeing on Friday just how he tries to get out of the corner into which he has painted himself.
