Well, so much for the playdowns, might as well just head to Milford CC right now, where Gil can continue to pretend he’s teaching the kids to play golf. For a day or so.
Will Boo walk away with no penalty or will Mimi have to cut her vacation with Pedro short to come back to teach her a lesson and miss the playdowns in the process.
I knew there was something different about Art and thanks to yesterday’s MOP it sure looks like old Art had a lot more forehead back in September than he does now. He must have spent the last few months visiting Elton John’s hair plug doctor. Must be a surprise for when mom shows up.
Maybe what’s throwing things off is Art’s use of “benched.” If True is at the game and in uniform but Art won’t let him play, I’ll stick by my original thought that it’s crazy.
After researching Art’s appearance in early September, it seems the bright lights and fast living of Milford have aged the old fella. I think we earned our valuable lesson today. Mimi looking tanned at poolside by Saturday.
Looks like Milford will have to settle for second. Also looks like the massive cloud of weed smoke has followed Boo from the concert to outside Gil’s office—or is it an alien life form?
I wish Tru(e) had one of those thought bubbles in P2. I can just imagine what he’s thinking. “Personal responsibility? You’re not even wearing any underwear under that robe.”
With the way he’s holding up his right arm is Gil about to call for a ‘hit’ on True? “It is a most unfortuitous thing you have done my son……. and now you must pay. Kaz, do what must be done."
Nice try Jordy, but you’ll pitch your ass off until the final inning, when you’ll be too exhausted to continue. Whoever comes in to close will get shelled, because of course in the early part of the season before Tru(e) started pitching absolutely nobody else closed the games. Result, Milford loses, time to make tee times. And speaking of making time, make some time to read today’s overly wordy Mopped Up Thorp.
In all reality , Art is grasping for the easiest punishment , suspending True from the big game. Boo showing Art pictures of him cross dressing and cavorting with Mimi will cause him to rethink True’s suspension.
Unbelievably stupid. What parent would pull his kid from a game (particularly a scholarship-besotted guy like Tru’s dad) for rescuing a damsel in distress?

Hold it, did Art just bench True? Doesn’t Gil have a say in this?

In today’s world, parents sue the coach because they don’t get ENOUGH playing time. Personal responsibility???? Now that is PC in my world!

I have bench my son for games in the past for not getting things done (school work, chores etc…) prior to a game.

In all reality , good for Art for showing True some tough love. Now, does Boo terminate Art with extreme predjuidice so True can play ?

…Art looking like he has a little William Demarest (circa Uncle Charlie era) in him today…
Gil’s got that Kirk Russell pinched face look in P3 again…

…correction, maybe Gil is more a Butch Patrick doppelganger today. Wonder if he can snag foul balls with his teeth like little Eddie did?

Everyone’s close but no cigar. This is Milford. You’re right, It’s not really Tru’s Dad. It’s after midnight and Boo has turned back into a pumpkin.

Let’s put the blame for this squarely where it belongs— with the Mystic Pranks and their midnight show in Central City.

In his haste to catch True, Art forgot to remove his two really long Lee press-on nails.

Bring on the Jeffs—I’ve got this! Be prepared for a summer without golf, as I lead us through the play downs!

Does anyone remember Art “always preaching about the team” last summer? It was all True, True, True.
