if it’s not written down on the list, it doesn’t make it into the buggy…

Unless the txt gets deleted, you have a 2-item list. No excuse.

I’d buy it, then leave it in the car and say I forgot it.

@John Smith and MaCookie7Why? Why gleefully lie, break a promise, AND run out of toilet paper? TP is important for everyone, it’s not like she asked him to pick up tampons. Why is it Janis’ responsibility to get it? If he can’t stop by the grocery store, he should tell her instead of saying he will (and then not do it).

It’s HOUSE stuff! Honest to Pete — do your share guys! You want a full-time income from your wives/partners, whine like a 12-year-old about picking something up from the store that you’re driving right past, let your spouse come home and work ANOTHER full-time job with cooking, laundry, and childcare, and then complain about how she’s not motivated to go to bed with you! 1. She’s really tired and 2. You’re just another kid in the house who resists doing his chores — and she really wants a grownup man!

This is for “SLSharris” as his/her reply function was not working on the comment I was seeking to reply to:slsharris said (about 2 hours ago)“It’s HOUSE stuff! If I were to indulge in your style of hyperbole, I could state, “It’s YARD stuff! Honest to Pete – do your share gals! You want a traditional male breadwinner, but complain about him all the time, yet do you shovel the driveway, or cut the lawn? When do I, a breadwinning male get to indulge my own creative side? You’re just another mouth to feed in the house, and you resist acknowledging most of us guys do a helluva lot – he wants a friend and partner, not to just exist as an income maker.”That said…. I personally do not believe what you wrote no more than I believe what I wrote.1. Any marriage is a partnership. Both partners negotiate what their respective role(s) are.2. In my own household, I do all yard work, all laundry, about half of the cleaning (or a bit more), all vehicle upkeep, all dog walking/feeding and all cat “poopbox” cleaning/ cat feeding, and about 1/3 of the cooking. So, I guess what I am saying, SLSharris… the brush with which you paint is overladen with cynicism and bad will. I am sorry that apparently you may be married to someone who does not do his/her fair share. But, the lazy husband/dopey dad stereotype is not particularly a good reflection of today’s reality.

Now… Janis is upset because Arlo is forgetful. But, to be honest, I agree with Army Nurse….. If it is written on a piece of paper… I am a helluva lot less likely to forget something. A text does not register as well with me, and I am more likely to forget than with a paper list.

Has it ever been stated that Janis is employed outside the home? I’m just wondering where slsharris was getting her rant on from. Also, if I respond to something with just a ‘k’ in a text, my wife knows that I was being quick and likely distracted when replying, so the ‘reinforcement’ (pre-nagging) probably gets it to sink in.
