Actually, Mr. C looks more like Ollie (from Kukla, Fran, and Ollie) than Cecil.

Anyone remember that before Ozzie and Harriet there was The Stu Erwin Show ( Trouble With Father ) and along with Lucy there was Ann Sothern in My Favorite Secretary and Gale Storm in My Little Margie and of course William Bendix in The Life of Riley ?You do remember ? Boy, I’ll bet you remember Ed Winn and Ed Sullivan. You’re not old, just have a good memory ! LOL !

@LafinlarryLos Angeles, late 1940s. KTLA (the only station) 5pm. Me in my chair, a foot away from the tiny 12" screen. First. the test pattern, then Beany and Cecil, followed by Hopalong Cassidy! Then it was dinner time.

Ours was the 500th tv set sold in Los Angeles, got a cerfificate and everything.

I see Kukal and Fran; where’s Ollie?

Is the sheriff under the weather? I wish him a speedy recovery and continued good health. Ballard Street needs his folksy wisdom.

We’ll get along fine as long as Mr. C. doesn’t try to take control of the remote.

Between the Yarpermukers and Higglepooders, this is definitely turning into a double Redbreast Irish backed by a couple of pints of Guinness afternoon at the Tiki. Anyone care to join me ? I’m buying.
