Asphalt (black top) is far worse! I use to walk on the white cross walk lines imagining that they were tight ropes! And for God’s sake, there are bees and yellow jackets in grassy fields! You haven’t smarted until you’ve stepped on one of those things!
And don’t step on the woolly worms either – OUCH! I’d forgotten the blessing of the painted lines, but will never forget accidentally stepping on gobs of melted chewing gum idiots spit out on sidewalks. Special place in hades for people who did/do that.
