It is easy to bash something, quite a bit more difficult to come up with a reasonable solution. I wish the press would really push these politicians on what their policies and plans really are instead of just dramatizing opposition bashing.

If you want to “defeat” ISIS with any haste you need to be willing to act as ruthlessly as they do. So who wants to join up?

We should go with the Congressional strategy to defeat ISIS.

Oh, wait. Not only does the Republican controlled Congress NOT HAVE a strategy, they will not even allow a debate about the subject.

Maybe the Republican presidential candidates? Graham wants to re-invade Iraq and also invade Syria. And plan on keeping troops there for a couple generations or so.

    Want that?

Rand Paul wants to stop. Um, sort of. Kinda didn’t choose the right words or something. What does he want, again?

Jeb Bush says he would have invaded, no matter what. Or he would not have. Or something. And, you know, um, mistakes were made. By someone. No one we know or are related to.

The rest of the Republican candidates are strangely silent. Well, except for Hatred Of Obama and Hatred Of Hillary. Which is an excellent strategy, right?

The Brits or Frogs would have tried to form an alliance..Right now, the DA (formerly Da3sh in Arabic or ISIS in English, now the ‘self-proclaimed Islamic State’) is at war with all Shi’a and all Kurds (who are Sunni, like the DA, but Kurdish, which makes them ethnically infidels). Saudi wants the DA to get rid of the Shi’a and sends them money, but have to be careful because the DA want to replace the King of Saudi Arabia as the temporal and spiritual leader of all Islam with their own Caliph..The old al-Qaeda is wavering between fighting the DA (they want their own Caliph, not the DA Caliph), joining the DA (because they’re winning), and apologising to the King of Saudi Arabia for any offence they might have unintentionally given him so he’ll give them support (in the form of money and materiel) to fight the Shi’a and the DA..The Shi’a in Syria and Iran want to exterminate the DA..Israel kind of supports the DA for now, since they’re killing Muslims, and thereby distracting some of those who want to destroy Israel. The DA says, after they’ve taken over the entire Muslim world, Israel is next, but Israel figures that will be AFTER Elijah returns..The US knows that it doesn’t need an alliance. The US will exterminate as many of the world’s 1 billion Muslims as necessary to pacify the religion. Well, except for the Islamic employer of the US elected leaders, the King of Saudi Arabia. The US has to do whatever he says, since he’s da boss..But no alliances.

The Republican plan so far seems to be to send 10,000 troops over with no plan at all. Lead from the front in stupidity so the troops can be IED fodder. Republicans can blame Obama all they want but offer no alternative so they nothing to stand on.“Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.”Euripides, Bacchae

Why private contractors? I disagree that having more people on the ground calling in air strikes alone is going to win against ISIS. I agree with Obama’s strategy of training and backing up Iraq troops is are best. They are going to have to “win’ this war. The people of Iraq are going to have to eventually come up with a political solution.”Col. Pat Ryder, spokesman for U.S. Central Command, told reporters Friday that while pilots can often place bombs on targets “within minutes,” it’s very important to be very precise and exercise tactical discipline to protect civilian populations.“We’re dealing with a hybrid adversary who often hides among the population,” he said. “It’s more important for us to accurately target the enemy with a high degree of precision in order to minimize civilian casualties than it is to strike with such speed or force that would risk disenfranchising the very population we’re there to protect.”Although most defense analysts agree with Cmdr. Harmer, not all agree that the absence of more U.S. forces on the ground is the only reason many of these airstrike missions are coming back with their bombs still in tow. There may just be fewer targets that pilots can hit in a war, and all agree it cannot be won by air power alone, said Janine Davidson, senior fellow for defense policy at the Council for Foreign Relations.“It makes sense that, over time, you’re going to run out of targets,” she said. “There’s a point at which now you’re in a race against time, [and] you have to get ground forces up to a point to take over [the] fight while you can still do what you can to hold things at bay with air power. It could just be a reflection of where we are in this campaign.”Victory, she said, is now based not on the pace of bombings, but rather on the training and effectiveness of Iraqi troops, which were recently questioned by Defense Secretary Ashton Carter following a major defeat for government forces in Ramadi.“ ”http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/may/31/us-bombers-hold-fire-on-islamic-state-targets-amid/?page=all">http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/may/31/us-bombers-hold-fire-on-islamic-state-targets-amid/?page=allAs far as S-300 anti aircraft missiles you think Russians are really interest in selling that to ISIS, especially with your next sentence you say ISIS is going to conquer parts of Russia. You realize that Russia supports Bashar al Assad who is fighting ISIS?ISIS conquering all of the Middle East and parts of Europe and Russia is just paranoia.

Is there any thought out there that the countries in the middle east were created by other countries to make them easier to deal with and manipulate. Many of the governments were created by foreigners. Maybe the entire region needs to be rethought as to boundaries, etc.

Why would a strategy be broadcast world wide as many seem to expect? The American mistake is thinking Iraqis can be trained to protect the American invader’s interests, and then if they don’t, they are terrorists.. Forget it and get out before more is lost!

Overlooking that the entire Bush strategy, and “Bush Doctrine” were created by a group of individuals like PNAC, who suffered “ano-crantial sphincter complex” en mass, but made billions, that now Obama is supposed to solve..
