    I do it every once in a while if I’m in a hurry….But when I’m camping, I do it a lot….

You have to have the right kind of sponges around. Spongebaths work in a pinch, but I sleep SO much better after a full shower…

Did Arlo not catch that, or is he happily deciding to let it pass? Sort of reminds me of when my Grandfather said of my Grandmother, " I wouldn’t trade her for two just like her."

I’m love the way Janis managed to casually insult Arlo’s singing.

Anybody can sing the Spongebob theme song. It’s mostly yelling anyway.

Nice burn Janis! My coworker once sang the Spongebob song during a talent show at work, hilarious!

By the time one sponges, they may as well shower. Are they getting up or getting ready for bed?

When I was about 8 years old I hated taking baths. About once or twice a week I would pretend to bathe by running bath water and then sitting next to the tub with my arm in the water to simulate the sound of someone washing up. I did this a few times before I realized I worked just as hard pretending as actually bathing so I might as well just get into the tub and really wash.

That’s grounds for divorce and a huge settlement for abusive behavior.

With the kind of crap Arlo gives Janis, a bit of snippy is better than he might expect…

Unless that sponge is brand new, you just covered yourself with more germs and bacteria than you probably wanna know about. Showers are the way to go for actual cleanliness.

Look a “sponge bath” is usually done with a good wash cloth, a new one each time…..To tell you the truth I’ve never heard of nor imagined anybody doing it with actual sponges…..Ouch……..

Please remember that these characters are created by the cartoonist and have no life of their own. If Janis makes snippy remarks, it’s because Jimmy wants her to — he thinks it is funny. I don’t agree with him. If my late husband wanted to sing in the bathroom, I would laugh and give him a big hug.

@Night-Gaunt49“Showers are much nicer and saves on water.”.Depends on the length of the shower..Put the plug in the drain ere starting your shower and see what the level is upon finishing. If the level is below what it would be for the bath, then it saved water. If the level is higher, the water was not necessarily wasted, but definitely more was used..And then there’s the consideration that a shower removes surface bacteria whereas a bath simply moves it around.

    Soap kills it.

I’ve told this before, but maybe not here. When my BFF and I were sharing a room at Florida State U., we were right next to the women’s bathroom on our floor. Unfortunately, there was a woman who’d sing in the shower every day, way off key. We devised a plan to lie on my friend’s bed, which shared a wall with the bathroom, and pound on the wall with our bare heels whenever she sang. (We each listened in the bathroom while the other kicked – it made quite the racket!) The next time she sang, we tried it out. After that, she didn’t sing in the shower any more.
