How gullible is the girls’ future stepfather? (Oldest trick in the parenting book: asking a parent for something and saying the other parent said it was fine.)

So just how much “Cute” does $50.00 buy these days?

“Honest” indeed..Said like this, it’s a big red flag. I’m surprised Alix goes along with it—she seems like the more ethical of the two.

Better ask mom when they can leave and how long they can stay. Not doubting what they said, of course.

My father’s answer was always “go ask your mother.” Mother’s was “go ask your father.” We learned that we needed to ask each one, then wait for them to confer and decide. The more we asked, the longer it took them.

LOL Holly could spend that easily on clothes all by herself. Alix on the other hand would buy bugs….I do hope she grows them up a bit. I’d like to see Alix and Holly both go into higher grades in school….. time goes by, even in a comic strip and one can only keep the main characters looking the same for only so long……I remember when the creator changed how the daughter looked in The Humble Stumble (which was based on his real life) we’ve followed these story lines so far!

My Mom remarried when I was 9. Dad, bless his heart, took on a family of four daughters, ages 4 to 9.

Holly sure has on her “I’m lying” grin and her prevaricating eyelashes.

Shouldn’t have asked in front of Uncle Wally. He’ll know better even if Phil doesn’t (which I doubt).
