If we actually had 9 honest, intelligent Supreme Court Justices currently on the bench, impartial to political leanings and un-influenced by money, then the above should not be a problem to interpret and bring the law up to date. The original framers of our government and Constitution were quite aware that the future would bring changes & challenges. Our Constitution still functions well, and DOES NOT NEED TO BE RE-WRITTEN, as some interested parties want done.
We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men corporations are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
The founders knew that time would change, as would needs, and therefore made it possible, but difficult, to amend the Constitution with the consent of the people. Even Franklin and some other “futurists” in that group couldn’t conceive of automatic weapons, and nuclear weapons, lasers, or internal combustion engines; technology impacts many of our rights, and obligations, far beyond the foresight of those men.
^I’m a VERY firm believer in probable cause- having been involved in a case that went before SCOTUS, and we won, based on “probable cause”. Unfortunately, Reagan and the “conservatives” realigned the SCOTUS, and a lot of invasion of privacy resulted, much called “The Patriot Act”, by conservatives who drove it through the Constitution like a bulldozer.
