Lew, you couldn’t possibly be trying to make a connection between education level and earnings potential, could you? There’s absolutely no correlation between the two except in every study ever done which basically all show that with rare exceptions, people who have higher levels of education get higher levels of compensation. I have seen the effects of such as my degree in business administration has nothing to do with my career as an IT pro, but because I have the degree I am eligible for senior positions whereas those with just as much IT experience as myself are not because they lack a degree and certifications. I’d also bet that no one on their deathbed ever wished they had learned less in life.
Somewhere in the world, there’s a comic strip where all the children are studious, polite, and industrious. Everybody treats everybody else respectfully, they learn from their mistakes so as not to repeat them, they choose their words carefully so as never to be misunderstood.
Somewhere in the world this strip no doubt exists, but I’ve never run across it. If I ever do, though, I’ll make sure to mention it here, so Joe can rush to embrace it, and everybody else can keep a million miles away from it.
Awww, Baldo! You just got lousy D on your assignment. You should have studied hard with Papi’s help other nights ago. What did you forget how to remember the right answers on your exam or assigment? I wish you could retake the exam or assigment to pull the grade up to at least A or B.
