I’m a little surprised one of the creationist crazies hasn’t shown up yet to tell us all that this cartoon is basically accurate (though the coloring of the critter is a bit conjectural), complete with a disquisition as to how the behemoth in Job 40 describes a brontosaurus (yes, I know it’s supposed to be called apatosaurus). After all, there’s no other possible explanation, right?
I have a vague recollection of a cartoon that showed that the Roadrunner was the president of Acme, which would explain a lot. Did I imagine it? Dream it? Anyone else ever see it?
Except I remember the Coyote tried this trick: He went down a dead end road, and painted a tunnel on the cliff face. He then went to the fork in the road, and changed the sign to indicate the other direction was the dead end. The Road Runner comes to the fork, stops and reads the sign, heads down the real dead end and “through” the tunnel the coyote painted in the wall. Coyote tests the painting, it is solid. He starts back runs at the painting and gets knocked out cold when he hits the wall. Like all his plans, it backfired.
