Have an illegal shoe in soccer, and you have to replace it..Have a single ball two lbs PSI light in a single game, and go into a national frenzy. What a bunch of morons.
Forget the Phantom Zone, the Twilight Zone would be more apt for this whole thing. Was the cheating deliberate? Yes, of course. Did Brady know about it, lie about it at the time, and is currently lying about it? Yes, of course. Does the punishment of either the team or the head cheater fit the “crime” ? Not at all. Of course, the “reality pond” isn’t something most sports fans spend a great deal of time dipping their toes into in the first place. Because what fun would that be?
@braindead, losing a first round pick for next seasons draft is damaging. Same, really, with a fourth round pick as that pick is one teams use to solidify a position.

Patriots said they wouldn’t appeal, right? It’s not like they’re crushed by the penalty.
