Gladys: Why did the picture go black? The show just started!
Brutus: I know the networks often cancel shows abruptly these days, but this is ridiculous!
Many years ago, I got a phone call from a company who were airing a pilot of a half-hour comedy. It was piped into a local cable channel and they asked if I would watch it and give my opinion when they called back, to which I agreed. After the show, they called back and asked what I thought of the show. I said “Are you sure you want to hear this?” “Yes”, they said. “OK, that was the worst piece of dreck I have ever seen in my entire life, and that includes Opera, Professional Wrestling, and Teen Dance Shows.” The lady laughed and told me that was pretty much the gist of what others were saying, as well.
I’ve watched only one episode of Survivor back when that dumb naked guy was on.Here you got all these people eating rats and rubbing sticks together to make fire..I realized “what about the camera guy?”, Is he eating steak and drinking good scotch while these poor shlubs are falling off logs?
I was just looking last night at a very large page on the occasionally reliable Wikipedia of US TV shows that were cancelled before they ever aired their first episode!

I stopped when everything went to reality this or reality that. I don’t need TV to see reality, I can just go out into reality.
