Val: Hi, June! Your nephew's doing well! June: Good! We need him to walk down the aisle in a couple months. Val: Well - June: I'm sure you're having second thoughts. You still love your late husband. The accident terrified you and made you fear becoming a widow for the second time. Val: How do you know all that?? June: I have mystical POWERS, and I talked to your mother.

Better a widow as second time than to lose out on the good bits of life now.
But for now, I have to wonder how Phil can be released “tomorrow” when his leg is still in a sling and he’s getting sedatives to knock him out “today.”

You must be a very lonely, lonely person. To look at a situation and simply consider the pros and cons is NOT cold and calculating. It’s called thoughtful and wise. Many relationship problems could be avoided if people actually thought “Is this a good idea?” Our church required a marriage retreat for couples. One couple took one test and realized they were only getting married because it was “expected” of them. They canceled their wedding (hopefully only for the moment). The point is they saw a serious problem and acted maturely. This strip narrative is a good example of someone actually considering the consequences of their actions.

Don’t like a comic or where it is going? Skip it for a while. Although if you had I wouldn’t have seen the M.T. joke. Heh heh heh.

I was rushed out of the hospital once too (about a year ago), I had a hernia repair and since I live alone they let me stay overnight, but hospital policy was to release me the next day, even though I kept telling them that I didn’t think I was ready and needed more time to recover. I ended up calling an ambulance and going back in that night because I was in too much pain to sleep and too much discomfort to do anything else. The hospital admitted that I was right when I said I wasn’t ready and ended up sending me to a nursing home for R & R for a couple weeks, but it turned into six weeks when my sugical incesion got infected and the had to go back in to clean it out and put me on IV antibiotics.
