He is such a nice man. At this point I’m in the “Val doesn’t deserve him” crowd.

“Fine” is an acronym.

Yeah. All the signs are bad. But, then again, this IS a cartoon. You can’t expect reason to prevail.

You’re nervous Val.

Phil really is a wonderful guy, and thinking of her like this only makes him more wonderful. Val is scared at what might have happened, and she’s trying to show brave face for Phil. It’s not going to work. And we’re going to get a laugh or two out of it, I’m sure.

call, talk to Joan and your mom: they’ll tell you that Phil is perfect for you; remind you that the girls like and (mostly) respect him;; and that you and Phil are already a couple. If you are scared into inaction, you’ll lose him anyway, husband or not.

Now, sit down beside your man, and tell him your fears. He WILL understand (or happily die trying), he’ll love you even more for your efforts, and you’ll realize what your loyal viewers already know: you’re head-over-heels in love, totally smitten, and can’t live without him.

Poor Phil he is hurt but will mend take months and he is comforting Val, good man.

I don’t see why people think Val doesn’t love Phil. She’s obviously all shook up over her worry about him, but doesn’t want to admit it to anyone.

Val acts like she’s got some kind of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). It’s a little over the top I think. Assuming that since her 1st husband died it means that all others to follow will too… It’s like believing in jinxes and the supernatural. She basically irrational. If she really loved Phil she would be doing as Evie suggested… wanting to protect and pull him closer.
