I remember reading where some dude in a tee shirt went out to mountains in a blizzard to cut down a Christmas tree!!! Needless to say he never saw Christmas.
I wasn’t happy about the idea. We hadn’t owned the plane for very long, and even though it was August, the weather could turn bitterly cold up there. The men could have taken a chartered Twin Otter from their landing spot, but Rod insisted he could get them home.
Hey Duke I just found out my son-in-law left Japan to go to your lovely country for a month. I am so jealous. My daughter says that he’s going to be “where it is dangerous”. My brain went huh? (He’s in the US Army, so when I hear danger I think war-zone). He’s going where there are spiders & snakes. I love my daughter, but that just cracked me up. Meanwhile she was figuring he’d be miserably hot, but I reminded her that you all are in winter now. I realize winter there doesn’t mean snow & such, just lower temps. Was I close in telling her in would be 90-100 as opposed to 120? Oy I just realized you guys do metric there. I haven’t any clue what Celsius would be.
