If Gracie is so smart, then how come she hasn’t skipped a grade or few?

Can’t advance them and can’t hold them back either anymore. Not good for the ones having to compete with the younger ones for the same grade and teacher attention if advanced. Not good for the Self Image and Self Esteem for the one held back. Like getting shoved on with the others when you still don’t understand most of the basic material is going to be good for the child.

I skipped my Senior year – went straight from Junior to college – but my father skipped three grades at one whack.

They certainly do skip grades these days. The valedictorian this year skipped a grade. However, it is and always has been a joint decision between the school, the parents, and the student. Not all parents want their kids to skip – and not all kids want to because they leave their friends. It looks like the school here is accommodating Gracie’s desire to find more difficult work.

Gracie may be smart, but she definitely has no people skills.

If hers is done and his isn’t, how does that prove that hers is harder and more challenging (i.e., that she wins the argument)?
