One of my all-time favorites: the dreamlike progression from avoiding giants to being giants, and (as others have said) the details on the buildings: Signs for ICE CREAM, TOYS, CANDY, BICYCLES… alas, the town is not as friendly as its signage. What? Who is calling me? Um!
