Val: Umm... Holly: We folded and put away all the laundry! Val: The basket that was right here..? Val: That was dirty laundry. Holly: No good deed goes unpunished. Dirty clothes are on the floor of the laundry room. Clean are in the basket. Simple rule follow it.

I guess the girls’ noses have gone immune to funky smells that they didn’t notice.

I use the same basket to transport dirty clothes to the laundry room and clean clothes back to the bedroom. I don’t find it particularly confusing.

We put clean in the basket easier to transport to the bed. I think she should have at least said “thanks but…” at least the girls thought about helping out.

At my house, we have a laundry chute with convenient access from all the bedrooms. The dirty clothes are then down in the basement, ready for sorting into different loads. So, my basket is only used for clean clothes, either wet to hang outside, or dry to put away.

No wonder they don’t try to help out more. How hard would it be to give them a little credit for at least trying to help before yelling at them?

Why would she leave a basket of dirty laundry in front of the couch in the living room ???
locake almost 9 years ago
Clean clothes would get all wrinkled if they were left in the laundry basket in a pile.

However, I do not like food-service items put into the sink. “To each his own,” said the old lady as she kissed the cow . . .

Mom should have said clothes need washed first then put away then mom would be surprised with the girls.

SFReader1,For four childhood years, I lived in a house with a laundry chute accessible from two bathrooms. Today, I put dirty laundry into bags, according to what kind of wash it needs (regular, permanent press or delicate). On wash day, that load is left in its plastic bag and put into the wheeled hamper and taken to one of several laundry areas in the apartment. When the clothes or towels and bedding are clean and dry, they go back into the hamper, but NOT back into the plastic bags they had been in.

We use a foldable stand up mesh bag for dirty & keep the basket for clean laundry. After once putting away dirty dishes, we got a clean/dirty magnet for the front of the dishwasher.
