    maybe we should start rebuilding our bridges like that. i just read in finland they charge speeding tickets according to income. why can’t we do that. the rich republicans can’t dare call that raising taxes. after all, you don’t pay anything unless you break the traffic laws

    I like that idea a lot. Probably would face constitutional challenges, but I like it a lot. I actually think prison terms ought to be meted out the same way, too. A day for every dollar stolen, whether knocking off a convenience store or embezzling on Wall Street. Two days per dollar if a weapon is involved.

    we do do t over here. At least in the South. Most jerk water towns have dozens of cops. their main task is to write speeding tickets. South Carolina had to pass a law a few years ago that a municipality may NOT collect more than HALF of their revenue by speeding tickets avg $ 2-300 each. Call it by another name but a TAX IS A TAX<
