Jesse, hope you feel better today.Queen, hope Moose’s surgery goes well today and that your foster gets a forever home soon. Shame about that idiot who won’t let his wife feed the nursing mama cat.Miscreant, I got your message and replied.Everyone have a good Tuesday.
These are the first 3 I brought home from the shelter last night. Moose had to wash them. Sara, our best bottle baby foster mom came and got them. I’m leaving to take Moose to the vet and pick up the other 2 siblings that came in late last night and some KMR from Susan. Will take the KMR and babies to Sara.
The dark grey one has the oddest coloring. Brey and black coat, kind of like a wolf, with a black face and black paws. I call him Screamer – because he DOES!. The orange one is the biggest and he ate come canned kitten food while we waited for Sara. The other 2 had no interest in it. They wanted mamas milk.
I think the odd colored one will turn out to be a tortie, very similar to the one my Momma Kitty had. Unless it’s a boy, of course. Sending lots of warm fuzzy thoughts to Moose today, I hope the surgery is 100% successful. Poor Moose has had his share of health issues, time to put them behind him. I am still sick so reluctantly canceling my trip down south.
@Queen. Your foster kittens are adorable. Love the squinty eyes two of them have! May they thrive and be adopted into wonderful FOREVER homes soon. Thanks to you, Sara and Susan for your rescue work. And, of course, I am keeping positive thoughts for Moose today. Hope he comes through surgery with flying colors and no more crystals.
When I dropped off Moose I told him lots of people were thinking good thoughts for him.
Then I picked up the 2 other babies. They are much tinier than the others but both are that same wolf colored. They were screaming meamies because Linda did not feed them all night. I took them to Susan and she gave them KMR and made them pee. Then they went to sleep. While there, Sara called and said she was in my area so met me here. Saved me a trip to the other end of St George. Susan sent along cans of KMR, kitten food, and cat food for Sars’s cat.
They have a new puppy that someone dumped – with a bad leg! It had to be amputated. Anyway, puppy LOVES the kittens and washed them, licked their bottoms to make them pee and sleeps with them. Sara said every time a baby cried, puppy would run to get her.
Now we need to get the mama and her babies from that other place.
Bad news on the little kitty that was poisoned. He died at Best Friends yesterday. And, a second poisoned kitty that Susan rushed to the vet died, too.
Three of the cats she were adopted last weekend are gone. One ladys son left the door open and the 10 yr cat got out.
The lady who adopted 2 young cats had company and they left the door open and the kitties are gone.
@MCTS….just went back to see later comments from yesterday. I LOVE the matching socks picture you posted. Better not let my daughter see it or she might whip out those crocheting needles and begin….the cats will have to hide like never before. LOL
I don’t normally post links, but this is one to have a look at..http://imgur.com/gallery/P3K8Z.The title is ‘The incredible nursing cat’..This below is the background story: -.“Rademenesa was diagnosed with an inflamed respiratory tract when he was 2 months old. He survived the ordeal and now lives at the animal shelter and keeps other sick animals company and tries to nurse them back to health.”.Still sending healing vibes & purrs towards Moose to assist in his recovery.
It’s 2:15 here and the vet just called. Surgery went fine and Moose is starting to come around. He took another xray to make sure he got all of the stones and sent them to a lab for testing. We have to pick him up at 4:00 and say goodbye to my SS check for this month. :(
QoA, glad Moose’s surgery went well and so sad to hear Susan’s tales. Just adopted 2 new boys last Friday and been very careful about the doors but accidents do happen, Here’s hoping the escapees make their way home. Really good pics today :)
Queen glad to hear Moose is doing well. Like jessegooddoggy said, don’t forget the tuna and ice cream, tomorrow of course, after the anesthetic has worn off.
Ruth, your first post, the first kitten, the gray and white, looks just like our Little Bit, one of the bros we found under our Catalpa Tree on Father’s Day a couple years back. One of the 2 youngest son and I bottle fed when their eyes weren’t even open yet. The only difference is that under Little Bit’s chin is a big patch of gray. But they sure look alike! Little Bit has such beautiful eyes too. They are gold in color.
He’s still loopy. He’s supposed to wear his cone for a week. I’m betting it will be off by tomorrow. I have plenty of those broth/tuna/veg packets that I promised him.
Buster sends his well wishes to Moose. Right now he is bugging to be fed. I was gone longer today than usual and he misses me if I just take out the trash. Queen, where do you get those veggie broth packets. Buster gets bored so fast and so easy, I have to keep things interesting.
I give up. Fixed Buster a bowl of his soupy supper but he didn’t want it. He wanted it dry! Right out of the package. Now I need to find a happy medium between dry food the way he was getting it and wet the way he needs it to keep peeing. They are worse than children sometimes. That’s why we love them the way we do.
Thanks to all for concern about Moose. He’s not happy – especially that I shoved meds down his throat. Which he promptly threw up. (at leas one of them. It was the pain meds) I took his collar off so he can lap up his broth and stuff out of a pretty flat bowl.
I really wish vets would keep animals overnight after a surgery. Or at least give us an option. I would have gladly paid a $35 boarding fee.
QueenofAmerica I have thought of those Fancy Feasts gravy pouches. My cats now all eat dry food, but they also all drink water. But after reading your comments I have started incorporating some wet canned food into their bowls. One of my cats will eat nothing but dry, won’t even eat kitty treats or when I open a can of tuna for me, share a wee bit with them, he wants no part of it, LOL! But they all love the catnip!

Forgot to add that I loved the pics today. The moving sunbeam is what happens at our house.
The kitten on the computer cracked me up, as did the cat with the milk jug. Thanks to all for posting them and making my day a littler better.
