“Fontane”! So, the posters’ suppositions were right (per the resemblance to Frank Fontaine/ “Crazy Guggenheim)! Too bad this may be his last (live) appearance! And, oddly enough, this is only the sixth time we’ve seen Jimmy Choo Shooz since his debut on April 6!

Hmmm…..Jimmy Choo Chooz just arranged the theft of a massive gold shipment, yet he’s cleaning out ever bookmaker place he runs and leaving a trail of dead men as if he’s planning to disappear…..something really complex is in the works it would appear.

My thought – Jimmy is grabbing cash and going to disappear. Everyone involved on the gold train is dead and it’s just a distraction for the others …

Hmmm, BB-Eyes sent Blaze to a place run by “Axelrod” but this place seems to be run by Fontane. Is this a third joint, maybe? or did someone get the names wrong? Will Blaze and Doubleup be arriving soon? or will Tracy and Sam be arriving soon after checking out that tunnel to the lake?

    “IN the CITY” . . .

That’s Jimmy, apparently cleaning up ’today’s’ Cash !The drawn Gun suggest’s he’s about to get RID of one co-conspirator. Making it one less, to share the GOLD with ?

But where’s the Stolen Gold – All evidence suggests to Lake PratchettBut where is Tracy? Slill not ONE “Suspect” identified. So logically, you follow the GOLD ?Is Tracy on his way to the LAKE ?

We might recall, that Tracy likely, DOESN’T ‘know’, that this Jimmy Choo Shooz even EXISTS ! ?

SDM, only you could chose the appropriate Z’s for this arc. We miss you! I know Otto does. He sez:“Oh where, oh where could that certain poster be;I know he lives by the seas.He tries and he tries to absorb this nonsensity,But trips all over the Z-z-z-z’s”.

The only “Special Project[ile]” for you, Fontane, is going to be 9mm, to the back of the head (your hat should retain the brains). I am surprised that Jimmy is still tapping out his bookie joints in the city (small-fry stuff, compared to the gold haul, but on the other hand ready cash rather than bulky bullion); I had really expected that he was already at Tellum’s studio by Lake Prachett. A dead witness, however, is as good as no witness, so I guess Jimmy still thinks he can make a clean sweep all by himself. He is, of course, terribly wrong.

… a villain’s grotesque, typically deformed, appearance. Such an approach would not work effectively in a realistically rendered strip …

The balance between realism and cartoon was a difficult one in the 1990 Disney film of Dick Tracy and may have come close to the “would not work” line for some of the characters, though I think that the overall cartoon look was mostly successful.

And so we have Frank Fontane. the stooge on Jack Benny and Jackie Gleason.

    I missed Lake Pratchett. Neat!

Tracy now knows about the 1924 robbery, the tunnel Mole showed him and Lake Pratchett. I wouldn’t expect Tracy to walk Mole into possible danger. Mole did his part as a good citizen. Seems like a good time for Tracy and Sam to team up to find both the thief and the stolen gold. Fontane would be much better off at Joe’s bar. Sing us a song, Crazy.

    @ SIDNEY PHILLIPS

    SDM aka Mattie . . .__________________________

I thought so too at first but other things later on have made me change my opinion.

Mattie lives in Illinois and SDM lives in NYC. In addition, I have corresponded with Mattie and would find it hard to believe that he could go as long as SDM without going on a rant.

When he first arrived, SDM pretended to be several different people but I do not believe he is Mattie.
