If he had no survivors how is the government going to get their large share of his estate?

What about inheritance tax? The IRS nails his family after he goes.

The truth is although the government agency “IRS” gets the blame it is our members of Congress who make up the crazy tax laws and tells the IRS to enforce them. Add to that they subsequently cut their budget and their staff drastically so they can’t even do that job properly. So the U.S. is losing a lot of legitimate tax revenue because of that. The IRS is just a front for the ineptness of Congress, both sides of the aisle.

Actually, there is a check box on the tax form for whether the taxpayer is deceased or not. If anybody hopes to inherit from him, they would have to do his taxes, or make sure that they get done.Or the government will be happy to take it all.

The government wants their due, and they due as much as possible.

There is no “Inheritance Tax” there is an “Estate Tax” on the estate of the deceased but not on what is inherited.

Now don’t be giving Al Qaeda any ideas that might actually gain them popular support here.

I would be most happy to be eligible for the estate tax when I die. As it is, I’m more like Rabelais: “I have nothing; I owe much. The rest I leave to the poor.”

For a tradition he made something. Millions never get there or knew such exists. A disparity without want?

I wonder if he crashed a plane into an IRS building?-———————When was that? Just in the last 10 years, wasn’t it?If he could afford an airplane, he could afford to pay his taxes. The last GOP candidate for governor in Connecticut owned two jet fighter planes, a business worth millions, etc. – and dodged his taxes with magic math, by claiming he had no income for several years. The voters used their own magic, and made that weasel disappear.

As Will Rogers said, “The only difference between death and taxes is that death doesn’t get worse every time Congress meets.”

Local, State, Federal, Sales and Excise taxes are well over 50% of your income.

Observer fo Irony: But that goes to the state government and Libertarians believe in an all-powerful state government..James: Which involves so few (who have written enough loopholes to have avoided significant taxes all their life) and it is a long way from 100%..GuiltyBystander: It gives Al Qaeda no ideas, our domestic terrorists have already tried it in Austin.

Yeah, I remember when it happened.Andrew Joseph Stack III blamed all his problems on the IRS, and was having increasing problems with his temper, and posted a long anti-government rant online. His wife took her daughter and went to a hotel, and the next day found he’d set their house on fire, and crashed a plane into a 7 story office building which had, among many other offices, one for the IRS.-My memory augmented by “Man Crashes Plane Into Texas IRS Office” Feb. 18, 2010, NY Times.

^Hmm, the Reagan years, and appointments, and regulations and rules, that cleared the wealthy from the saddle, and put it on the middle class. A friend went to work for IRS, his first two corporate cases, he retreived over $4 milion in unpaid taxes, they moved him over to go after drug dealers, and leave the corporates alone- that was ’83.
