I don’t believe that is his knife, although it could be. It looks to be curved like one of those rib cage bones on the ground. His knife does seem to disappear at times only to magically reappear when needed.
You can see his knife in panel 1 on the right side of his loincloth. The handle is sticking up. I can’t believe these captors don’t bother to collect knives and guns from the prisoners.
Why is it turning to renew the attack? Why doesn’t it keep going and eat Paul and Chiram first and come back and get the lion-killer later? So many questions here.
