Poster I saw in the college bookstore (way back in the day) had a soft-focus photo of a beagle (or hound of some kind) lying next to a linen tablecloth set with fine china and a silver place setting with silver candlesticks (and lighted tapers, of course). In a very elegant typeface, the poster advised, “Before you call a dog dumb, consider who works five days a week to support whom.”
