Lupin: Delicious smells are coming in from the kitchen. Lupin: Elvis? Elvis: Thanks, Lupin. Elvis here, overseeing all of the feast preparations in the kitchen. Elvis: I am vital to this process. Woman: Elvis, get down. Puck: Puck here, standing by in case any taste testing is needed. Puck: Ooh... That looks scrumptious. Puck: That looks good too. Man: C'mon Puck, off the table. Puck: But I was born for this? Lupin: This just in: A city is being attack ed by giant animals on tv! Elvis: The feast centers around an enormous chickadee. Woman: ELVIS GET OFF THE STOVE! Lupin: Now the city is being attacked by a bunch of Broadway performers. Lupin: I don't understand this invasion. Puck: What is this delicacy? Elvis: All because one brave cat stood by in the kitchen. Puck: This just in: The People gave us turkey! Lupin: Reports confirm, it's delicious! Elvis: It was nothing, really.

I remember trying to fix Thanksgiving with 2 toddlers, a dog and 3 cats all winding around my legs. Those were the good old days!Oh and trying (not so successfully) to keep Max off the counter, and out of the Turkey! And Toshie, for some reason, thought the table was for naps.Good thing our guests had kids, dogs and cats of their own.

Hello Everyone! Many of you will remember that the strip runs about 6 months behind holiday wise, as it was launched here on GoComics about 6 months after it was first created in March 2014. This will be especially important to remember this month because….
The Christmas special is about to begin! That’s right, Christmas in July!!
I moved a few of the strips around so it would be Christmas in July, and not Christmas in June or Christmas in August, which just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
This Thanksgiving strip moves us closer toward the holiday special, which will begin Monday! I hope everyone enjoys it! And that the pictures of snow can maybe take the edge off the summer humidity!

When I worked at Hallmark Cards in the Contemporary Design studio 1960-85, It was hard to do Christmas card designs & ideas in July. Breaking Cat News characters might have been used on Hallmark Cards as a ‘Property’earning payments, as were many other comic characters.

Love this one! Especially love the ‘What is this delicacy?’ with the canned shaped cranberry sauce. My husband and I buy 2 turkeys at Thanksgiving time and have a second Thanksgiving in the summer. After reading this, I am ready and hungry!

A lot of groups of boaters in the northern parts of the US have a Christmas In July party. It’s not as much fun in December when your boat is laid up foe the winter. 8^)

We did Thanksgiving buffet style one year. Everyone was enjoying their first plate of food when we heard a thump – because my kitty had pulled the turkey off the table.
