Wasn’t that a war where allies were labeled “The coalition of the billing”? And wasn’t that where Cheney used ginned up evidence, passed thru lapdog press and he cited those news stories as proof? It was a poorly done war and peace and don’t kid yourself.

I think Rall has his facts mixed up. The U.S. did help create the Islamic State group, but that happened in Iraq where their leader was first radicalized in a US detention camp, and then took over the al-Queda affiliate in Iraq before being forced to retreat into Syria where they gained strength and then re-invaded northern Iraq and elsewhere. The US also tried to deliver some training and small arms to Syrian rebels but this did not amount to much as they could not ensure they were not abetting terrorists as well. So while Islamic State does have numerous US weapons these were taken from the Iraqi Army when they fled from the Islamic State incursions. There is no credible evidence that the US is directly supporting the Assad regime that I know of.

Not only does Obana not support Assad, he’s still openly arming and training the cannibal headhunters whom he pretends are “moderate Syrian rebels”. Right from the beginning a lot of us – in fact all of us who knew anything at all about what was going on – said the “moderate rebels” in Syria were jihadi scum. But the Imperial States of Exceptionalism knows better than anyone, so at first it denied there were any jihadis at all. Then it said there were an “insignificant number”…until suddenly not even it could ignore the jihadis any longer.

Exactly the same thing actually as Obama is doing in Ukraine where the Imperial States is still pretending it’s not backing Nazis.

Oh, by the way, Ted, I assume that’s Assad you’ve drawn with Obama. I suggest next time you ought to try and draw Hitler, you might then end up with someone who looks a bit like Assad.

@ Arghhgarrr: Obama’s moderate cannibal headhunters have defected to ISIS en masse either directly or via Jabhat al Nusra. Ted Rall is perfectly correct in saying that they are becoming ISIS. The Imperial States just needs to go home and mind its own business.

Maybe before we send any more arms to the Saudis, maybe we should make some contingencies — like maybe they sign a peace treaty with Israel.

The 2003 Iraq Invasion – W’s War – required 21 days of official combat operations, 19 March to 9 April, 2003. Where do you get 4 days ? …from Gulf I (G H W Bush)?

If you commit /abet an assault (crime) based on fraud and prevarication of which you are unaware…are you still equally culpable for the action ? This is the apparent reason for a large portion of the Democratic (maybe some of the Republican) and world “support” for the 2003 Iraqi invasion. Ineptitude or disinterest in diplomatic solutions is not an excuse for what happened in that war – destruction of a nation to remove it’s leader from power (because he tried to hurt yer Daddy…and YOU have the Power !) with no plan to clean up the mess you create – including caring for your own damaged citizens – and all on the “Credit Card”, because " Reagan proved that deficits don’t matter." ~ D. Cheney…until the “Other Guys” get in office. Unfortunately, you are not “alone” in such “logic”.
