Just reach over and grab the bloody gun from his fingers by force. Phill and his girl are the ADULTS, not his FRIENDS.

A time out is in order. Max needs to learn a lesson.

Oh for goodness sakes, take the gun away from the child. Who’s in charge here the parent or the kid?

Time for a spanking. Oh, I forgot. We’re too stupid, uh, I mean, civilized, to punish children for inappropriate behavior. If I had shot my dad like that he would have beat my ass till I couldn’t sit down for a week.

As a parent, I would turn the gun on the kid and show him how it feels and hurts. Then take it away. Why give such a toy that only hurts the targets? That’s not good parenting. This toy promotes violence and harm.

Seriously. Take. it. away. NOW! Consider shooting the little twerp on the back of his hand so that he understands that it STINGS!

A 3 year old who is playing with a toy given to him by his father (the only one he has ever had) is to be spanked, hard enough to not sit for a week, because he’s not handing over the toy his daddy gave him with a smile and apologizing profusely for the minor pain he is without comprehending it giving. Explaining to him that “we are taking this away for a while until you know what kinds of things to aim it at” is what my parents did. I asked, never had a tantrum in any store, once had to stay 5 minutes after school. Only police officer I’ve spent time with was teaching the self-defense course. But time-outs don’t work, only a week’s worth of pain. Which means what to a 3-year-old on day 1? agony

Between now and the next strip I hope Max gets a spanking. He might then be able to keep his rubber band gun. Saying OW certainly won’t teach him snything.
