I’m so pop culture illiterate that for almost a year after I first heard of the show, I thought it was a spinoff about the bad guys from “Star Trek Deep Space Nine.”.After someone finally showed me a few minutes from one episode, I realized that it was not too far from the truth — they really are pretty alien.

Now that’s a smart TV!
