Silly questions I need answers to (I googled them but can’t get satisfactory answers).1) Is it safe to put sphagnum moss and ornamental rocks around the base of an air plant?2) Can “lucky bamboo” be planted, or will it only survive in a vase/glass of water?Yes, I was silly and bought 2 plants I know absolutely nothing about.
Whiskers crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this morning at age 23. She wasn’t our cat, she was our neighbor Sarah’s but she spent as much time with us as she did with her own family, so she felt like ours. She was sleeping in our bedroom and last night she couldn’t move her back legs, so Sarah came over and brought her home and this morning took her to the vet. She had a huge mass in her stomach. She’d been fine up until then, so at least she didn’t seem to be in any pain. We’ll miss that beautiful calico girl.
Thanks, everyone. It will sure feel different without her. After we lost our cat, Babe (the one I brought with me to the UK from Boston), back in 2007, Whiskers would turn up every morning at our back door. She never missed a day. It was as though she knew we needed her there.
Woof probably only talks to flowers – they listen better than people and cats. 2old – love the astonished cat pictures. runningstag – how sweet to share a cat. You have wonderful memories to share together.
I just had to come back and read this one again! I was so fixated on Annie’s facial expression on the first read, that I just now noticed Chesney’s expression as well! LOL!
Dear Mr. Harrop, it is so wonderful seeing Woof talking to a flower. Thank you for this lovely strip in days of my trouble with Blitzi, one of my beloved cats.
Thanks again, everyone. We’ve got Big Man and Bucky to keep us company, but there’s a still a huge Whiskers-sized gap in our lives. She was so sweet and loving. She liked everybody. It’s so wonderful that everyone on here gives so much support, even though we may live far away from each other.
OMG Woof has spoken again…and this time a full sentence. Always knew he was an exceptional kitty! And Chesney’s hair is standing up on end in last panel!!!!!
I missed yesterday’s strip somehow, just got caught up. Yesterday’s and today’s strips are the best! Love Oliver and Woof so much. And great pictures, everybody. :)
Maybe Woof only talks when he has something profound to say and nobody else can hear him-like Mr. Ed. @runningstag so sorry for your loss. It never gets any easier. @Marge, saying prayers for your kitty Blitzy.

How lucky for Whiskers to have 2 loving homes, and live to 23. But such a sad day for you and your neighbor.

Woof spoke!! Can’t wait to see what else he has to say. Maybe he’ll give Chesney the old “what for” after all of his antics.

So sorry runningstag! And for Sarah! Whiskers lived a long time, she had a good life, remember that.
