A retailer is very happy to give 10% off to a customer who believes he pulling a fast one. Bob is doing his job providing bad service because he increases the motivation for customers to actually buy something and the amount of stuff they buy. Burl laughs as he hands over his money for still overpriced merchandise.

I agree with Needle, they just raise the price by 10% and you think you got a bargain! Actually they raise the price by 20% and they got a profit. Ah the American Way!

Burl didn’t answer Bob’s question, so technically Burl was right. But Burl is still a jerk!

Looks like they’re about to get their 101st bad check.

Who goes all the way to a home store for a plunger? I would only buy a plunger there if I was going for other reasons. I’m surprised Burl didn’t go to a dollar store for his.

Here is the deal the way I look Bob offered help. They were annoyed he did and clearly indicated they did not want help so he moved on. So this is not bad service this is bad customers

I remember helping a custormer once when they complained that they weren’t getting the advertised price on a couple items and the cashier couldn’t leave to check the price. One item was a lamp and it turned out the customer had taken the wrong lamp, the sign and the sale lamp was about ten feet from the lamp she chose and I ended up showing her in the item description how her lamp didn’t match (it wasn’t even the right original price). The second item was something she’d taken from a clearance shelf, but as soon as I compared the item she had to the items on clearance I could see it was the wrong item and again showed her how the clearance item didn’t match what she had, then she complained that since she got it from the clearance shelf she should get the clearance price for it, even after I pointed out that it was probably left by someone who decided to get the clearance item instead of the one they had (she even tried to argue that anything left on a clearance shelf should go for the clearance price). When we got back to the register the cashier asked if everything was alright and the costumer said something like, “Well at least you’re trying to help me, unlike some of your fellow workers,” and she just glared at me.
