Notice the mono-brow, the sloped forehead, and if you could see his knuckles, you would probably notice drag-marks.

It takes leather balls to play rugby!

Furthermore, it’s all done without benefit of masses of body armour - unlike a certain other game played with the same shape ball.

In the UK, we define football (soccer in the US) as a gentlemen’s game played by hooligans and rugby football sa a hooligan’s game played by gentlemen.

I thought that in the UK sporting events were watched by the hooligans….

Rugby, it’s a beautiful thing. When I was in college our varsity rugby team was reduced to “club” status. Too much beer on the sideline.

The action never stops. In football there are time outs and every down stops the action. In baseball it’s time out every time they throw the ball to the pitcher. It may take leather balls to play rugby, but it takes a stainless steel bladder to watch.

Used to play it at MSU with a guy named Tree cause his legs where like tree stumps. Scrummy game, that.

That’s what I like about Rugby, too, Lewreader. And that there’s no time for commercial breaks!

I played club lacrosse at LSU and most of the time our only fans were the club rugby team. Of course we repaid the favor, as both of our teams usually had beer on the sidelines.

It sounds like a lot of fun, until you discover the attributes are also in passive voice: get mutilated, be* mangled, *get crushed…
