I’m trying! My kids keep saying they don’t want just anything. What they want and are willing to wait for are the nice things I’m still using and will take to retirement apt when the time comes. Does anyone want service for 8 in bar crystal? Service for 15 in spoons and forks, etc?? Little things go to charity thrift store now!!!

I think that if we were generous with what we have toward those who are down on their luck and in need, there would be no need for the government (or anyone else) to redistribute anything – we would do it ourselves, cheerfully, without being asked. (The root meaning of “charity” is “love”.)
Government does most of what it does only because we should be doing it but don’t, thanks to our own short-sighted “me first” human nature.
