She understood why he felt that way in public,
But honestly… in private…
that was the last straw.
But we keep that fact under wraps.
Shy? That’s a hollow excuse.

Sounds like a Strawman excuse.
It’s just a cover-up, he’s really an ice guy.
Maybe it’s a pity date. Whoever took him to the party drew the short straw.
