Just the opposite for me. Spent thirty-five years in NC. Loved the heat at first, but post 50 couldn’t wait to retire and move to northern Maine. When it’s cold you can always add more layers, but when it’s hot you can only get but just so naked!
Love winter! No bugs, hardly any annoying music heard from three blocks away because of open car windows, and no loud engines because people aren’t hot-rodding on ice!

Mid-Atlantic and lower New England states have wonderful seasonal changes where you usually do not have too much of a bad thing weather-wise.
