    Printers saved money by using one color. I remember Norman Rockwell commenting on how red was the most often used second color, because it could do a Caucasian skin tone, and he regretted the loss of a rich green he used on one occasion.

    (Then there’s two-strip Technicolor, which was great for red and green, but a bit less than ideal for blue and yellow.)

    Is Willie’s father deceased? I suspect so because he’s never mentioned. There’s Mama, Grandpa and even Sister Sue, but no father is ever mentioned..
