Isn’t he out of office now?

Banking is misregulated as well as grossly over-regulated. The stupidest of all is HMDA – no rational soul can interpret anything meaningful from those reports. The Basel protocols practically compelled banks to invest mostly in consumer real estate mortgages and sovereign debt – smart. CRA limits bank freedom unless they throw enough money at low income borrowers, and ECOA punishes them if they price it according to risk. Why anyone thinks bureaucrats are competent to supervise a free competitive market is beyond comprehension.

Carmen’s head is ballooned up again

This is a rerun from 2011, when Stantis was still doing the artwork. I like the way he draws Carmen much better. I’ve always been a sucker for big noggins.

(At least, I think it was still Stantis. Maybe not. If it wasn’t Eric Allie started out imitating Stantis much more closely before drifting in his own direction.)
