Let’s have a trash bin of fun.

Over here in Ballard Meadows and Mud Pit Acres, we like our trash bins purty.

Trashday Eve… an exciting ritual for residents of Ballard County….Unfortunately, it’s not generally marked by clearance sales, picnics, and other county-wide forms of celebration, because it’s a different day of the week , depending upon where your property is located.

This picture was taken in the South County, where Trash Day is Wednesday, so Trashday Eve is every Tuesday night…. And South County residents do love a party….

The Downtown area of Ballard Street, where the Tiki and my salon are both located, mostly lies within the East County boundaries…Trashday Eve is Wednesday, for us…and while we love a party, as well, the weekly holiday is somewhat overshadowed by Whimsical Wednesday…most people wear the same costume for both, and don’t have a separate Trashday look.

Recently, too, our Trashday Eve celebrations have been muted by three major holidays in two months falling on Thursdays, which delays the trash pickup for 24 hours, and confuses the residents as to the appropriate night to party.
