The emblem of the “God of Peace” is a man being tortured to death. That explains a lot.

*Dzw3030 and I were debating an aspect of this yesterday. The leaders of moderate Muslim nations are allowing these brutal fanatics to lead a war of ideology, a ‘nation’ without borders or capitals, and acting as if by doing so no real Muslim nation will suffer the USA’s wrath. It is my own hypothesis that one day the fanatics will do so much damage to a US or European capital that the response will be akin to what happened after Pearl Harbor. That if the religion of Islam is the "capital’ of the ‘nation’ with which we are warring, it may be the symbols and holy places of Islam that are subjected to attack. It would be my preference that Saudi Arabia and the Arab League would lead their fellow Muslims in a jihad against the fanatics who are using Islam as an excuse to do evil to Muslim, Christian, and atheist alike.Respectfully,C.

Christian or Muslim, the problem is when they try to impose their will on others. I too am troubled by the science of Muslims when it comes to rejecting the violence of extremists. It seems that killing off and subjugating those who are different than you is built in to the human genome.

I recall reading an article about a 15th century Sunni cleric whose name I cannot recall. I afterwards read some other stories about him and found many of his interpretations of the Koran to be similar in tone and emotion to the red letters representing the words of Jesus. It was that reading that inspired me to find an English copy of the Koran and while I’ve not finished it, I find less reason to do harm to others within its pages than I find in the OId Testament of the Bible. Those who consider the Muslims to be animals forget the Inquisition that, despite being based in the Jesuit stronghold of Spain, covered all of western Europe and parts of the middle east. Thank you for your link, Martens. As always, you are much appreciated.Sincerely,C.

Islam repressed Christianity in North Africa, Turkey and everywhere it went. Furthermore, it still does.

The significant word is “radical”. Moses, the Buddha, Jesus, and Mohammed, were ALL considered “radicals” in their times, and societies. The Old Testament may well be the most violent and represive text in history, while latter divisions of that faith, yes, Christianity and Islam DO pull their laws, especially the most confining and represive, from that document as well.

The “golden rule” of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” predates even the Old Testament in many cultures. Today, it’s taken by too many as “do unto others, BEFORE THEY CAN DO IT TO YOU”.

Torture, usury from corporate bankers, preemptive war, hate the government, hate the cops (until they save YOU), hate every race but your own, a lie is not a lie if I believe it, criminals should be defended for their actions-or condemned if you feel like it today, social isolation caused by the “social media”; yes in today’s world, it IS difficult to determine who, or what, to attack next.

“Religion is mankind’s greatest evil. A cult that masquerades as a religion and the religion is still taken seriously is insane.”Religion stems from Man’s innate desire to understand the world around him. That in itself is not “evil.” It is used for evil when a man decides to use his religion as an excuse to dominate and/or harm others.

^Mangy, neither are the vast majority of Muslim leaders. They have no equivalent of the Pope, Archbishop, etc of the Christian churches, which, as to “ageements”, and uniform beliefs, why are there over 30,000! sects in “Christianity”?? There’s also a tad difference between “reform” and radical “orthodox” Judaism as well.

I have read the Quran, Hadiths and commentaries and have had Muslim roommates and friends. Without doing any kind of search (internet or otherwise) tell me about the tree of Zaqqum.

Not quite sure what your comment means. I was contrasting Christ and Mohammad. History is full of the acts of the true followers of each. If you want to cite the crusades then that would be a distortion of Christ’s words. If you want to cite the slaughter of Khaibar then the companions of Mohammad were following his example. Your point?
