My mother, one year, had to fix Christmas dinner, I was in charge of Operation Merry Christmas and my cousin had a Christmas job. We got to my parents house at 4PM, No decorations, my mother was wearing the same ‘ol outfit she wore around the house every day and when my Dad took the turkey out of the oven, he dropped it on the floor. My mother sat down at the table, wiped her forehead and said "I’m too tired to eat",. My cousin and I looked at each other and said (in unison), Never. Again. that’s when I realized that I was now the grownup!
