What was revealed in the report was about as “secret” any more as the clock in Britain’s Parliament (Big Ben is a bell, not the clock). Admiting what was done isn’t the problem. NOT conituning it, and making sure none of the alphabet agencies in Defense and intelligence, like “Homeland Security” (that most folks have never heard of), continue such practices is the key. Part of that is seeing to it that those in agencies CAN “blow the whistle” on bad practices (even if only to those with security clearances who will follow up and act), and persecuting those whistleblowers who are NOT blowing security, rather protecting true security, is also a mistake that needs to stop.
