When you’re trapped in your car after a wreck, and it’s catchng fire, be sure to refuse to let a cop rescue you. When you’re attacked by drive by shooters, don’t call the cops to catch them. When your child is lost, or kidnapped, don’t call the cops to rescue her.

Yes, bigotry from all sides is rampant, but the cops don’t have nearly the power to end it, even though it’s criminal ignorance at its base. Ending racism, tribalism, ethnicism, or plain human cruelty inherent in the species, must come from the all members of the various cultures that make up our “American” social sructure.

Lalo strikes again. No thought, just bias. Brown was a violent thug who attacked an officer. The guy in Staten Island had been arrested 31 times before and knew the process. He told the officers he wouldn’t cooperate and resisted arrest. He was talking to the officers after he was on the ground so he was breathing. His death was an accident.

This is probably a reference to the racist tweets that five Ohio deputies posted. One was “What do apples and black people have in common? They both hang from trees."

Lalo could also very well be referring to the white cops who hung a noose in a St. Louis courthouse. The sheriff was successfully sued by two black deputies for “a weak response” to the racially discriminatory atmosphere.

And yet all the right-wingers here can do is close their eyes to the many examples of blatant racism perpetrated by white cops, resorting to calling racist the people who actually point out racism. You really do sound like a bunch of segregationists in the 1950s and 1960s responding to the Civil Rights movement. On the wrong side of history then, on the wrong side of history now.

Cops need to weed out the bad apples. The code of silence needs to be stopped. Then ALL cops will have credibility and not need body cameras.

It seems the racists are the first to call everyone else racist.Cops come in all colors and genders, how is this racist?Unless you’re referring to lynching. And how many white people were ever lynched in the South for their color?

The racist never left the Dems

Not all of them did, true. A certain DA named McCulloch might be said to be one example of this.

    your turn

All those nice white folks in the South who stopped voting Democratic and started voting Republican as a result of the passage of Civil Rights legislation—part of Nixon’s Southern Strategy that has carried on to today. There’s a reason African Americans overwhelmingly vote Democratic, you know. Here’s a quote from Nixon’s political strategist:

“From now on, the Republicans are never going to get more than 10 to 20 percent of the Negro vote and they don’t need any more than that…but Republicans would be shortsighted if they weakened enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. The more Negroes who register as Democrats in the South, the sooner the Negrophobe whites will quit the Democrats and become Republicans. That’s where the votes are. Without that prodding from the blacks, the whites will backslide into their old comfortable arrangement with the local Democrats.”
