Gruesome is in love! That’s rather sweet.

Sounds as if Gruesome expects to be captured.

Wonder if he knows something we don’t.

I think he was resigned to going back to prison long ago. After all, he planned to reveal the body in the window seat ever since he put it there. So, she won’t allow him to write to her from prison? How can she stop him.?

Why would an accomplished killer and crook want to go back to the joint? And yeah, when is someone going to figure out the Otis thingie?

Seems like they’ll be wrapping up this caper just in time for Christmas.

Talk about your unexpected twists! Who would have guessed that Cupid, not Dick Tracy, would send Gruesome back to prison?!

Morning, Tracyville!And Einstein has just given away Gruesome’s identity.

Took a long time for Con Security to “wake up” to some activity at the Gruesome event. Like Tracy has been, in this tale , flat of foot, and slow off the mark ?.So we’ve got to go back to the theory that it might have been bystanders (can we guess - a little “charged” ?) That phoned the police, disturbed, maybe thinking Al Gore’s Armageddon was about to take place at the Monstercon ?A report of ‘some sort’ must have reached Tracy, as ‘unrealistic’, amusing and ‘self serving’ as that seemed to be to several yesterday.

Here we have it in ‘black and white’ from the Author that only now was some ‘official’ activity (actually) taking place. The numerous theories of maybe it was this, or maybe that, apparently to keep their stories in lock step with the developments, as they came along now seemed out the window and like Tracy no longer in the dark ?

Seems Neil selected his ‘black and white’ strip example from the Houston Chronicle quite “carefully” yesterday, had he used the strip for Dec 16th (the following day), it would have (vividly) revealed car lights, street lights and night skys. Net result, his more “muted” example with cars close to lighted buildings (reflections on nearby walls) helped to mask the darkness of the night during the play, thereby avoiding the sharper contrast with yesterdays strip.

A couple of things. Gruesome appears more grotesque in the passing of time. Note the progression in panel 2 from October (panel one). The Sunday strip still amazes me with the different heavier inks and the tonal coloring (last panel). I much prefer the daily’s cleaner look. No offense to anyone.

Regarding Gruesome’s appearance, perhaps the plastic surgery is wearing off! Like melting wax.

I don’t tailor my opinions to be in lock step with anyone, so I hope you weren’t aiming that at me.Truth is, I really don’t understand your complaints.Fight breaks out, call the cops. Pretty basic, wherever it happens – a bar, a convention, a city park.There’s no evidence to suggest security didn’t call the police as you claim, (complete with lame political trash; if I wanted politics, I’d watch cable news).Doesn’t matter why con security called the cops first, and then approached the troublemaker. (I’d go with, “He’s bigger than me, and I don’t want him strangling me; let’s call the cops.”)And, really, Syd – that crack about Neil implying some little conspiracy theory. For shame, Syd.

seems like this story can’t decide whether it wants to be taken seriously, or be a tongue-in-cheek comedy…..keeps going back and forth….

Also, re writing someone from prison, I think the prison authorities can block your letters from going to certain people if they request that. (Like the victims of stalkers.)
