If the political and media grandstanders wore the gag, and real journalists, and politicians with I.Q.s higher than slime mold were heard instead, “Justice” could have her say again in the courts, not in manipulations of EITHER SIDE in the media and public “opinion”. As Joe Friday used to say on “Dragnet”; “Just the facts, Ma’am”.

You were there? You saw that?

I could just as easily say that Mr. Brown was walking away with his hands up. I don’t know this, either.

The grand jury heard dozens of hours of testimony, and I don’t envy them one bit, as each one of them fears retribution.

I don’t know what they heard. The testimony is secret. But I’m pretty sure the members of the Grand Jury realized how important it was to get this right.

One thing I do know: almost none of us know what went on. And to assume something based on what we read or heard elsewhere is just an exercise in trying to justify opinions that were pre-formed.

If the first minutes of the Rodney King tape had been repeated as often as the end, like when he was choking a deputy, trying to kill him, after King had been tasered, and IF King had been shot and killed, on tape, while assaulting the officer, dozens of lives would have been saved.

But anyone who thinks there’s no discrimination in law enforcement across the nation, is also nuts.

Justice depends on facts, not media hype, bigotry, or stupidity on the part of the public.
