Who do you “pretend isn’t there?”

I don’t need to pretend! I hear people all the time; but, whenever I look around, there is nobody there….I wonder if it’s me?
You never know.
I’m pretending I didn’t see a bat in the basement. A bat I could not find after I found the equipment to wrangle it. I’m also pretending that it doesn’t mean I have a colony of bats in the attic. Isn’t pretending fun kids?
